Matilda by Roald Dahl

Gosh! This was my favorite book when I was younger. Still love it!

Book Description:

For hundreds of kids, “The Trunchbull” is pure terror. For Matilda, she’s a sitting duck.

The only book trailer on this book, that seems to be better quality. Not exactly best described, but you’ll get the point.

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

One of my favorite classic books. When I read this in school, I couldn’t put down the book. Absolutely wonderful!
Also check out the book trailer I posted!

Description:
Internationally acclaimed with more than 5 million copies in print, Fahrenheit 451 is Ray Bradbury’s classic novel of censorship and defiance, as resonant today as it was when it was first published nearly 50 years ago.
Guy Montag was a fireman whose job it was to start fires…
The system was simple. Everyone understood it. Books were for burning … along with the houses in which they were hidden.
Guy Montag enjoyed his job. He had been a fireman for ten years, and he had never questioned the pleasure of the midnight runs nor the joy of watching pages consumed by flames… never questioned anything until he met a seventeen-year-old girl who told him of a past when people were not afraid.
Then he met a professor who told him of a future in which people could think… and Guy Montag suddenly realized what he had to do!

READING A BOOK THAT YOU COMPLETELY LOVE, YOU JUST GET LOST IN IT, ALMOST AS IF YOUR LIVING IN THE BOOK. WHEN YOU FINISH READING IT, YOU ALMOST DON’T RECOGNIZE THE REAL WORLD, YOUR OWN WORLD.
from me

Glimpse by Carol Lynch Williams

A little different post than I usually do.

This is a book that I am currently reading. I only read an hour into it and I’m almost done! Very easy read, but DON’T let that stop you from reading it. It’s very powerful!

This book is written in verse, so it’s different from a lot of books out there.

Description:

JUST A YEAR APART.

The Chapman girls were as close as SISTERS could be.

HOPE could always count on Lizzie, and LIZZIE could always count on Hope- ALWAYS.

But even sisters have secrets. BIG SECRETS. And if Lizzie has her way she’ll take the biggest secret of all TO HER GRAVE.

With Lizzie in LOCKDOWN, can Hope discover THE TRUTH and save her sister, or is it already TOO LATE?

Acclaimed author CAROL LYNCH WILLIAMS’S Pen Award-winning FIRST NOVEL IN VERSE will captivate and HAUNT reader’s after the final page.

Stolen by Lucy Christopher

Awkward book at first, but then you get into it! I read the whole thing in one sitting! haha.

In The Flap:
YOU SAW ME BEFORE I SAW YOU.
A girl: Gemma, at the airport, on her way to a family vacation.
YOU HAD THAT LOOK IN YOUR EYES.
A guy: Ty, rugged, tan, too old, oddly familiar, eyes blue as ice.
LIKE YOU WANTED ME.
She steps away. For just a second. He pays for her drink. And drugs it.
WANTED ME FOR A LONG TIME.
He takes her, before she even knows what’s happening. To sand and heat. To emptiness and isolation. To nowhere. And expects her to love him.
Written as a letter from a victim to her captor, this is Gemma’s desperate story of survival. Ty has STOLEN her body. Against every instinct screaming inside her, will he also steal Gemma’s heart?
On The Back:
Stealing Beauty
You tilted my face and said something. Everything about you was fuzzy, floating on the trash fumes. Your beautiful mouth was moving like a caterpillar. I reached out and tried to catch it. You took my finger in yours. Some part of me understood. I started to get undressed….

Skin by Adrienne Maria Vrettos

This book makes me so sad! :( But great book! Overall, VERRY good read!

Description:
Fourteen-year-old Donnie’s older sister, Karen, has always been the one person in his life on whom he can totally depend. But as Karen slowly slips away in the grip of an eating disorder, Donnie finds himself alone in facing the trauma of his parents’ faltering marriage and his new life as an outcast at school.
Donnie makes it his responsibility to cure his sister’s illness and fix his parents’ issues, letting every part of himself disappear during the process. It is more important- and somehow easier- to figure out if today is a day when Karen is eating, or to know if Dad and Mom are sleeping in the same bedroom, than to deal with his own problems.  In the end, though, Donnie must decide whether to float through life unnoticed, or to claim his rightful place as a member in his family and of the world. This powerful story from a brilliant new talent introduces a memorable boy in Donnie, who, from his funny and painfully honest point of view, describes a harrowing year that leaves both him and his family forever changed.
